Open Days

Tihoi Venture School Tour - Sunday 9 September 2012

Come and visit Tihoi Venture School on our Tihoi Tour. All families who are interested in enrolling their child at St Paul’s for the 2013 year are welcome. Meet the staff, and tour the venture school. Morning tea and lunch will be provided and there will be an opportunity to talk with the boys currently based at Tihoi.

8.15am – Bus leaves St Paul’s Collegiate Car Park
2.00pm – Bus leaves Tihoi Car Park

Parents and Friends Open Day

During the course of each intake the students at Tihoi host an Open Day for family and friends. On this day the students get the opportunity to demonstrate some of the outdoor pursuit skills they have acquired along with their academic progress.

This open day is held on the Saturday morning of the second mid term break. The programme follows the following format:

• 9.00 – 10.00am – Family and friends hosted by their son for morning tea in his house

• 10.00am  – Datashow presentation of the boys recent activities in the Dining room

• 10.30am – Walk around the campus to look at a range of outdoor pursuit activities and students academic work on display

• 12.00noon – Shared finger food lunch with students in the Dining room (parents bring a plate of finger food to share for lunch)

The students leave with parents for the mid term break at 1.00pm.

Community Day

Each intake hosts a Community Day. This day gives parents an opportunity to join the students and work with their son to complete projects in the Tihoi area. Several projects are arranged and parents can opt for a particular project that matches their skills. These projects may include the likes of wood chopping, painting and tree planting.

Public Visits

During the course of each year the School arranges a number of visits to Tihoi for prospective parents and the children.

A bus departs from Hamilton at about 8.00am on the day of the visit. Guests are hosted by the Directors of Tihoi and are provided with morning tea on arrival. Guests are shown the facilities and programmes the campus has to offer and given an opportunity to ask staff any questions they may have.

Guests are provided with lunch which they have with the students and staff in the Tihoi Dining Room.

The bus departs for Hamilton at approximately 2.00pm arriving at approximately 4.00pm.
