National Age Groups

A small team of six St Paul's swimmers raced at the National Age Group Championships in Wellington. For many of the team this was their first test at racing at this level. The team performed well wih Tyler Ellis bringing back two silver medals in the 200m Butterfly and 1500m Freestyle. Connor Egan also swam well, placing fourth in the 1500m Freestyle. For full results please see the download. There were a total of nine finalists and 13 personal best swims. The team has established a great foundation for success at St Paul's Swimming Club and all the swimmers are excited about building on their success and development. Well done: I look forward to seeing you all develop from here, and to continue building the team.
Team: Tyller Ellis; Charles Christey; Connor Egan; Cameron Voykovich; Hamish Black; Angela Rawlings.

SPC Club Championships

Well done to all the swimmers who raced at the Club Championships held on 18 March 2012. The Club Champions will be presented with their trophies at prize giving along with the medals and ribbons. This will be great night and all members are welcome. Keep an eye on the website for date and venue. Well done everyone!

February Results

Well done to all the swimmers who raced over the last month. We have had some great results: keep it up this month.

Well done to Adam McCarthy (2nd), Hamish Black (4th) and Jack Davies (5th) who competed in the Contact Tri 3-9-3 at Kinloch.

Last weekend the Swimming New Zealand Junior Champs were held in Hamilton, with two swimmers from St Paul's competing. Jimmy and Emmanual both raced well, improving their best times and their overall placings. Both swimmers represented the Club well and we are proud of your results!

At the start of March we have a small team of swimmers heading down to Welllington to compete at the National Age Groups (NAGs). Only two swimmers have raced at this meet before so it is great to have another four swimmers competing at national level. We wish them all the best and I will keep the webpage updated with all the results from NAGs.

Open Water Champs

Well done to all eight swimmers that raced at the SNZ Open Water. Tyler won gold in the 10km 13-15 year old age as well as winning the Waikato 10km Championship. Cameron Voykovich from St Paul's won the bronze in the 5km 13-15 year old age group. This was a great achievement seeing it was the first time both boys have tried such an event. All of the swimmers that raced in Taupo swam very well and did both the club and themselves proud – good job! Jonathan Pullon (a former St Paul's student) came home second to win a qualifying place to race in Portugal where a top 16 finish can see him heading to London. All the best!
