Week 1 - 16.7.11

The first week at Tihoi is nearly complete.  We have experienced some very wild weather during house tramps but modified plans and all boys have been introduced to the Pureora Forest Park.  The skills of tent pitching, trangia cooking, fire lighting, map reading and basic camp craft have been taught.

Students have started their work on the Virtues Project and this week we are focussing on the virtue of respect – respect for self, others, property and environment.  Academic classes started on Saturday and the boys are quickly settling into the routines of Tihoi life.

The first dinner cooked in the houses was spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread and salad on Friday night.  Cyn enjoyed a great meal with Jock's house.  Sunday night the menu is hamburgers.
