HOUSE COORDINATOR (MATRON)- HARINGTON

Located in St Paul's Collegiate School Hamilton

St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s premier independent day and boarding schools for Year 9-13 boys and Year 11-13 girls. With a growing roll of currently 800 students, our school offers a learning environment that fosters academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, character education, and traditional values.

We are seeking a non-residential House Coordinator (Matron) to join our girls boarding house, which accommodates around 70 Year 11 - Year 13 girls.

Boarding has been an integral and dynamic part of St Paul’s since the school was established in 1959. With 330 boarding students living across four houses (three boys’ houses and one girls’ house), we offer a welcoming and supportive community.

A busy and rewarding role, the House Coordinator ensures the boarding house operates effectively, and that standards are maintained. Responsibilities include urgent repairs to uniforms, monitoring boarders’ health, hygiene and cleanliness, sorting laundry, labeling clothes, driving students to medical appointments, and liaising with cleaning, laundry, maintenance and health clinic staff and the Housemaster.

This hands-on role requires flexibility, strong time management and organisational skills, and good communication skills. As an adult presence and role model in the House, the House Coordinator acts as an adult listener, go-to person, and supervisor and needs to develop strong relationships with the girls and provide support to other House staff.

There is a physical aspect to the role where some lifting and bending is necessary. Candidates require a full, clean NZ driver’s license.

This is a part-time, hourly paid position working Monday to Friday (approximately 1.30 pm - 5.30 pm), when boarders are onsite (approximately 40 weeks per year). We are looking for someone to start this role at the commencement of the 2024 school year (though hours during Term 4 may be available).

Applications will be reviewed as received and you are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible.
