Whakatauakī – Visual Metaphors

Mauri mahi, mauri ora – “Do the mahi, get the treats" – Through work, we prosper. Whakataukī (proverbs) play a large role within Maori culture. It is a poetic form of the Maori language. Level 2 Photography have used their interpretation of this whakataukī to produce a series of images. The students related the whakataukī to their own personal story, history, or beliefs. This exhibition is their personal, visual, response.
