Fellows

The role of a Fellow at St Paul’s Collegiate School was established in the early 1980s. A Fellow has the same responsibilities of the school’s original Founders; Fellows are guardians of the school and if the Board should ever have difficulty in functioning then the Fellows will step in to assist.

The first Fellow, Mr John Mortimer, was appointed in April 1984 following his retirement from the role of trustee of the School’s Board in 1982, a role that he has held for 20 years. Prior to his appointment as the first Fellow of St Paul’s John was also chairman of the Board for four years and was a strong supporter of Tihoi and the Honikiwi Forestry investment, which has had significant return for the School.

Over the past 30 years, a further 38 people have been appointed as Fellows; eight of who have since passed away. St Paul’s Fellows have made tremendous sacrifices of time and have helped raise the profile of the School in the wider community.
