St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s leading independent day and boarding schools with an Anglican tradition. DIRECTOR OF TEACHING AND LEARNING

We seek a passionate, enthusiastic, and committed person to join our school in the newly developed role of Director of Teaching and Learning.

Acting as a professional role model, the Director of Teaching and Learning will mentor and coach other teachers and facilitate their professional learning needs, which will lead to playing a significant role in achieving improved educational outcomes for our students. Reporting to the Deputy Headmaster – Academic and an integral part of the Senior Leadership Group, they’ll also be accountable for the development and implementation of school educational policies, programmes and practices.

Our ideal candidate will be a fully registered (EDUCANZ) and successful teacher who has knowledge of current best practice standards for the classroom. They will need significant experience in national assessment and current knowledge of the EDUCANZ registration processes and requirements. Strong IT/digital skills that support quality, learning and assessment practices are essential.

DIRECTOR OF SPORTS DEVELOPMENT

We seek an energetic, confident person with strong relationship building skills to join our school in the newly developed role of Director of Sports Development.

The primary focus of this role is to identify, promote and support sporting opportunities that maximise the personal and collective growth and development of skills and opportunities for as many of St Paul’s young sportsmen and women as possible.

The successful candidate will be charged with forging and further developing links and partnerships with parents, old collegians, businesses, corporate sponsors, local sporting clubs and regional sports bodies – so proven skills in building and fostering strong, positive relationships – as well as networking and negotiating skills are essential!

Our ideal candidate will either be a fully registered teacher who has proven leadership skills or someone with experience and knowledge of both education and sports sectors. They will need an excellent grasp and understanding of effective sports coaching – both at an operational and strategic level, be a good problem solver and bring fresh, creative solutions into difficult situations. It’s expected that the successful candidate will also make a significant personal contribution to the sporting life of the school.

St Paul’s Swimming Club – Assistant Coach

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Coach to join our Coaching team, working 15-25 hours per week (hours negotiable for the candidate), the role will see you coach development and junior swimming squads who are at (or working towards) national level.

This hands-on role will see you working alongside the Head Coach with the emphasis on developing competitive swimmers. You will help facilitate swimmers through the squad pathway as well as help develop & mentor junior coaches. You’ll also need to be willing to step up and take charge of the swimming programme in the absence of the Head Coach – so we’re looking for someone who is flexible, a team player and who is able to motivate others.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, have at least bronze coaching certificate and an interest in continuing to develop and grow their coaching skills. You will have ideally coached at squad level for a minimum of two years or been a competitive swimmer at a National level. The club has both early morning and afternoon sessions (and some weekend sessions), so we are looking for someone who has the flexibility to work within these schedules.
