Sports selection

Years 9 – 11 All students in Years 9-11 are expected to actively participate in sports throughout the year. This requirement includes the selection of two sports annually, one summer sport and one winter sport.

To ensure a well-rounded experience, it is mandatory that at least one of the chosen sports falls under the Gold Sport category. This approach not only encourages students to engage in physical activities but also exposes them to a diverse range of sports experiences, promoting a balanced and active lifestyle.

For example: A student may select cricket as their summer sport and basketball as their winter sport (one Gold, one White) OR Athletics as their summer sport and rugby as their winter sport (two Golds) BUT They cannot select golf as a summer sport and cross country as a winter sport (both White options).

Years 12 – 13 Those in Year 12 and 13 are presented with a broader spectrum of co-curricular opportunities. These students are required to actively participate in a minimum of two co-curricular activities. Notably, one of these activities must be a sport, allowing students to continue benefiting from the physical and teamwork aspects of sports. Additionally, their second co-curricular pursuit can extend to include a variety of options such as music or cultural activities. This approach aims to provide Year 12 and 13 students with a flexible and comprehensive platform to explore their interests.
