St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s premier independent day and boarding schools. With a growing roll of 880 students, we provide a learning environment that fosters academic excellence, character development, and meaningful contributions beyond our school gates.
This is an exciting time to join our school. From 2026, we will welcome our first cohort of junior girls (Year 9). In 2027 this group will progress into Year 10, resulting in a fully co-educational school offering from Year 9 to Year 13 for all students. In response to this growth, we are seeking an energetic, dynamic, and skilled teacher to join our Health and Physical Education Faculty. The ideal candidate will be confident delivering Physical Education and Dance across a range of year levels. A strong focus on holistic development, student engagement, and collaborative practice is essential.
St Paul’s is well-resourced, with small class sizes and highly motivated, self-disciplined students. Staff enjoy a range of benefits, including daily cooked lunches, generous leave provisions, and a supportive, collegial environment. A competitive remuneration package is on offer, comprising the teacher salary scale plus a St Paul’s Allowance of $5,022 per annum. An annual bonus round also rewards staff involvement in our co-curricular programme and academic scholarship.
At St Paul’s, our vision is Cultivating Educated Contributors, and our mission is Inspiring Minds, Building Character, Shaping Futures. Alongside academic excellence, we are committed to being New Zealand’s premier boarding school, offering outstanding facilities, expert pastoral care, and diverse engagement opportunities for students. We are looking for staff who will embrace our vision and mission, and work with us to achieve our strategic goals.
This permanent, full-time role will commence at the start of Term 1, 2026.
To support our pastoral networks as the school grows, we also have five Deputy Day Housemaster positions available (2.5 MMA and 2.5/25 period time release). These roles provide an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student wellbeing and house culture, working alongside our established pastoral team. Applicants for the Physical Education and Dance role are warmly invited to express interest in one of these positions as part of their application.
An application pack with more information about the role and our school can be obtained by contacting Kathryn Conaghan, Head of HR via email: work@stpauls.school.nz
