Craig Hardman is Housemaster of Williams House and Head of Department, Physical Education and Health at St Paul’s Collegiate School. He joined our team in January 2007.
What made you choose to apply for a role at St Paul’s?
I really liked the feel of the school when I was coaching here while studying. The teachers really care and the students love their school.
Can you briefly describe what your role entails?
Physical Education – Looking after the delivery of PE.
Williams House – Looking after my 90 sons and making sure they develop into fine young men.
Can you describe an 'average' day in your role?
I am up at 6:00 am – If I am not in the boarding house I am probably on the hockey turf. I then teach 8:25 am– 3:30 pm. From there it’s either family/hockey or boarding. If I'm on duty in the evening my evening runs from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm in the boarding house.

Compared to other cities (or countries) you have lived in, what do you enjoy about living in Hamilton, New Zealand?
I enjoy how it is close to everything and the traffic is good.
What do you enjoy about being part of the Boarding Community?
So many young families living on site. Great facilities.

Coaching young men to be the best they can be.
