Dylan Groom is a Residential Assistant at St Paul’s Collegiate School. Dylan was a student at St Paul’s (Hall House, 2005 – 2010) and joined the team as a Residential Assistant in 2018.
What made you choose to apply for a role at St Paul’s?
I was thinking about going flatting, however, as I was a former student at St Paul’s I thought that going back and working as a Residential Assistant at the school would be a great experience and it would be a good chance for me to give back to the school that helped me so much.
Can you briefly describe what your role entails?
I am responsible for assisting a house prefect wake up the students at 6.30am, the morning routine consists of getting the students to breakfast, making sure rooms are tidy and making sure the juniors (year 9 and 10) complete their house duties.
Can you describe an 'average' day in your role?
Carrying out the morning routine, then also in the evening I assist with the supervision of prep and then the evening routine of getting the students to bed.
What do you enjoy about working at St Paul’s?
The environment, the helpful staff, the brotherhood within the house.
What are some of the benefits that you enjoy as a staff member of St Paul’s?
The facilities are amazing with access to the gym and the pool.
