High performance

St Paul’s Collegiate School offers students the opportunity to excel in their chosen sport through St Paul’s high performance sports programme.

The programme lifts the performance of individual athletes and flagship teams by building the whole athlete; the physical, mental, emotional and team unity characteristics.

Students are provided with one-on-one and group training sessions to help them reach their age-group potential and increase the overall performance of flagship teams.

Students, coaches and teams work closely with specialist coaches up to three times per week in group and one-on-one training sessions. St Paul’s strength and conditioning coach works on strength training, while the school’s life coach/trainer works towards improving mental game, strategic thinking and emotional skills. In addition, sports-specific development personnel work towards improving the overall performance of teams and individual athletes.

Junior high performance programme

All Year 9 and 10 students take part in the junior high performance sports programme. Students receive expert training with junior development coaches and the strength and conditioning coach twice during the six-day academic rotation. These lessons aim to enhance students' fitness and strength levels, develop skills, teach students about nutrition to enhance performance and improve recovery, and prepare students for their senior years as members of St Paul’s first teams.
