Scoring in the very first minute, the Development XV asserted an early dominance against Te Awamutu 1st XV. Playing with the wind in the first half, the St Paul's team kicked into the corners and managed to cross the line twice more before the half, leading 19 - 10.
The second half was a different story. After a few poor defensive efforts, they scored two quick tries and continued to keep us in our own half, applying constant pressure. They managed to cross the line once more and take away any hopes of a victory. We did however manage to salvage one more try and leave the score at 34 - 26 to Te Awamutu.
