Hockey - 1st XI Girls

v Bethlehem College 2nd XI

Date: Wednesday, 17 June 2015
Venue: Bethlehem
Result: Won
Score: 9-0

Playing on a sand turf took a little bit of adjustment but it meant for a fast game. St Paul’s took control fairly early on but found things quite congested going into the circle. We scored through Jade Henley-Smith almost a quarter of the way into the match. 4 minutes later Maddy Tims scored off a great reverse stick shot and she scored again 6 minutes later. 3 – 0 up at half time.

The second half got under way with a greater focus on width and 8 minutes into the half Ish Rawal drove across the circle taking a shot from the right which was helped into the goal by Millie Yarrell. Holding a better structure, and finding many combinations working across the field, saw us score five more goals – Maddy (2), Sarah Collinson (2) and Millie her second – in the second half.

A satisfying result as we continue to develop the team in preparation for the Inter-city competition starting in week 11 and Tournament Week next term!
