Football - 1st XI Girls

v Huntly

Date: Saturday, 14 May 2016
Venue: St Paul's Collegiate
Result: Lost
Score: 0-1

The girls were well prepared to tackle visitors Huntley on Saturday with a full squad in attendance. The shape and formation of the team were vastly improved from the previous weeks outing with Katherine Naylor and debutante, Deanna Rhind shoring up the central defence. There were strong performances in the engine room from Emi Ng, Captain Griffin and Jordan Grace. This contributed to the side creating a few openings after good interplay but unfortunately the girls appeared to have left their shooting boots at home. Georgia Guest put in a fine performance throughout on the right flank and was unlucky that her solid work didn't lead to a goal for St Paul's. Huntley edged the game one nil with a fine individual goal midway through the first half.

It was a much better all round team performance from the girls for the entire match and with a bit more accuracy in the environs of the opposition goal a more positive end result might have been the outcome. If the squad can keep up the commitment shown last week results will start to come.
