Hockey - 1st XI Boys

v HBHS 2nd XI

Date: Wednesday, 19 June 2013 at 5.30pm
Venue: St Paul's
Result: Won
Score: 5-1

The 1st XI boys realised they needed to improve after a disappointing performance against Tauranga Boys College due to poor individual mental preparation. The semi-final game against traditional rivals HBHS, was going to be a testing game. The team came playing better hockey. We scored two excellent goals from deflections and form organised attack. The only blemish was HBHS scoring a goal. The half-time score St Paul's 3 HBHS 2nd XI - 1.

In the second half St Paul's took control of the game by scoring two more goals.

Goal scorers: Conor Shalloe 2, Devon Kyle 1, Jono Bloor 1,

Highlights

Alex Wilson performed very well at the back to stop many of HBHS attacks, and the striker Conor Shalloe took his opportunities inside the circle to score two goals. The goal of the season thus far, came from Isaac Van Der Vossen cracking pass to Devon Nolan inside the circle who deflected the ball into the top right hand corner.

Next Wednesday night we play HBHS 1st XI again in the final of the Waikato Sec School. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
