St Paul's vs Te Awamutu match report.
We started the quarter with Jacob Gibbs splashing a deep ball in the corner which spread the defence for Jae Broomfield to penetrate to the rim. With Jae drawing the defence in allowed Kent Davidson to get free with 6 points for the first quarter (1st quarter 18-16).
In the 2nd quarter, Te Awamutu dominated on both ends out taking the 2nd quarter with a small lead at halftime 23 - 35. However, in the 3rd quarter, it was our time to go on a run. Jack Collins worked hard on the boards while Riley Foster got into some rhythm with his midrange. We managed to claw our way back into the game to lead 51-50.
In the 4th, it was much of the same. Both teams lifting the intensity on the defensive end however it was to be our night winning the match 76 - 74.
Friday 16th Aug we take on St John's Ospreys, 5.30pm at St Paul's.
