Premier Boys vs Tai Wananga match report - We start the match poorly turning the ball over. However, we were able to fight back into the game. We struggled from 3 point line shooting only 11% but were had a better conversion rate when we got to the rim shooting 30% (1st SPC 15 - TW 18). In the 2nd quarter, we were able to improve our efficiency shooting 33% from deep and 55% from inside. With the improved looks we were able to get back into the match (HT score SPC 37 - TW 37). In the 3rd we managed to take a small lead with our defence leading the way. Managing to pick up 19 boards and turning the ball over only 5 times in the quarter (3rd score SPC 56 - TW 51). In the 4th Tai Wananga managed to stay in the game by working harder on the offensive boards and getting into the passing lanes forcing SPC to turn the ball over 8 times. We struggled to shoot the ball with any fluency shooting 30% and 16% from deep. In the end, we gave too many second-chance opportunities to TW score. Final score SPC 70 - TW 74.
