v Kaipaki CC

Date: Saturday, 22 March 2014 at 10.30am
Venue: St Paul's
Result: Won

St Paul's bowled very well early to restrict Kaipaki to 71 for 5 after 21 overs with Cam Wratt 3 for 47, Simon Morbey 3 for 46 and Chris Swanson 2 for 62 returning the best figures. An ex Wanganui rep player then strode out at number 7 and blasted the team everywhere in making 109. Bede Higgens bowled well throughout and St Paul's stuck to their guns in the field doing well to eventually bowl Kaipaki for 267.

In reply St Paul's got off to a superb start through Dillon Kelliher and Kippa Fawcett who both made 75 who set a club record 170 opening partnership. Devon Nolan 16 and Chris Swanson 24 did their best to keep the momentum going but as the total neared some rash shots and silly run outs set in among the lower order and St Paul's finished on 253, 14 runs short.
