Our second game of the day saw us quite upbeat as we prepared to play St Peter’s 1st XI. St Peter’s pushed into our half from the first whistle and scored in the 4th minute. We came straight back to equalize one minute later through Zoe. 1 all at half time.
The second half followed much the same pattern with St Peter’s scoring in the 10th minute and Jade completing an equalizer two minutes later. Both sides created chances as the game started drawing to a close. About 7 minutes from the end St Peter’s converted a penalty. We forced a penalty corner shortly after but although we came very close didn’t convert it. The last play of the game was a penalty corner that St Peter’s converted to make them 4 – 2 winners.
The girl’s really combined to play as a team with probably their best performance to date. Although we lost this game the score line doesn’t reflect the closeness of a very good, entertaining match!
