v Te Aroha

Date: Wednesday, 23 July 2014
Venue: Thames Valley
Result: Won
Score: 7-2

After a bad start and good finish to our last game, we picked up where we left off with a great start to our match against Te Aroha. We took control from the opening whistle, and although it took a while to score, we maintained pressure throughout the half. Zoe Lapwood converted 2 penalty corners, Emanae Ferguson scored two field goals and Jade Henley-Smith scored a field goal just before half time. 5 – 1 at the break.

The second half saw Te Aroha play with greater determination and although we had a number of scoring opportunities we were not as dominant. We scored through Zoe (a stroke) and Renee Saunders finished off our last penalty corner. Te Aroha scored again during the second half to make the final score 7 – 2 to St Paul’s. The team is to be congratulated on a polished performance that saw them well rewarded for their effort!
