This match against Dio senior blue turned into a tough fixture. Although the score was rather large, the match itself was a lot closer than the score would suggest. St Paul’s held their structure well and although we created scoring opportunities, Dio were the stronger team on the day, creating more opportunities, but more importantly converting more chances.
Sarah Collinson-Smith scored first but Dio came straight back, equalizing about a minute later. Dio scored three further goals in the half. Dio were again able to dominate on the score sheet scoring 5 unanswered goals in the second half to win 9 – 1.
Well done to the girl’s on not dropping their heads and fighting hard until the final whistle!
