St Paul’s Collegiate School is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Graduate Accountant, or a third-year accounting student, to join our Finance team on a fixed-term basis through to the end of December 2026.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, with exposure to a broad range of financial functions within a busy and dynamic environment.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the school while also supporting a number of key projects. The role can be structured as full-time, or up to 30 hours per week for a candidate who is still studying.
Key responsibilities include processing payroll (wages), supporting budget holders and purchasers with financial queries and training, preparing monthly financial accounts for two of the school’s subsidiaries and completing GST returns, following up approvals for invoices and credit card transactions, and assisting with general customer service and administration.
Project work will include reviewing and updating the school’s asset register, updating processes for asset write-offs and disposals, supporting system migrations for some of our subsidiaries to Xero, and assisting with procurement processes.
We are ideally looking for a recent accounting graduate or someone in their final year of study, who has strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
At St Paul’s, we are a close-knit and supportive community. You will gain valuable experience across a wide range of finance functions while being supported to grow your skills and confidence. Working at St Paul’s, you’ll receive daily cooked lunches (during term time), have access to free onsite parking and enjoy working on a beautiful campus.
Applications Close Friday 24 April 2026 at 9.00 am and should be sent to work@stpauls.school.nz
