v Matamata College 1st XI

Date: Saturday, 13 June 2015 at 8.30am
Venue: Matamata College 1
Result: Won
Score: 8-0

The bounce followed the St Paul's lads to a cold Matamata pitch last Saturday. After a disappointing result last weekend, St Paul's were ready to prove themselves and create a dominant victory over Matamata 1st XI. From the start, St Paul's continued to dominate and saw 90% of the first half on Matamata’s side. After numerous missed opportunities, a left foot volley from Centre back Chris Swanson off a corner saw the ball over the Matamata keeper and into the back of the net. This started an on-flow of goals and a penalty from Matt Collier saw us 2 – 0 followed by a goal from Waikato Ball. Half time score 3-0. Reed Fisher opened the 2nd half with the 4th goal followed by Luke Goodwin then Colts A Player George Ott (Year 9) landed his first 1st XI goal. Waikato finished the game with the 7th and 8th goals making his tally for the game a hattrick. Key players substituted at half time saw the St Paul's team drop a little however we never looked like conceding and finished the game 8-0. Good performances came from Geo and Sam Lockwood-Geck.
