v St Peter's

Date: Saturday, 8 August 2015
Venue: St Peter's
Result: Drawn
Score: 2-2

On a rainy morning, we walked out to a soggy St Peter's pitch in preparation for a big game ahead. Pre-game warm up had a good vibe to it and we were confident going into the match. Unfortunately a sloppy goal 10 minutes in was a bit disheartening and another goal 10 minutes later put our heads down slightly. However both these goals came from set piece off the break of play and we had just as much possession as our opposition. We went into the second half 2-0 down but with the sun shining and with nothing to lose we seemed to have a second wind. A beautiful goal from Waikato Ball put us on the board 5 minutes into the second half. We had some confidence about us and completely dominated the second half with another goal from young talent George Ott. Making the score 2-2 with about 20 minutes to go. Spirits got heated due to a few odd calls from the ref and this led to a yellow card to Reed Fisher after he explained to the referee how to do his job. Even though we had one of the best games of the season, we got unlucky and left the score 2-2 at full time to top of the table team St Peter's. A result the team can be proud of. Player of the day was Owen Comber.
