Rugby - GOLD

v HBHS Black

Date: Saturday, 17 August 2019 at 11.00am
Venue: HBHS 4
Result: Lost
Score: 12-47

After strong starts in recent weeks, a lack of energy at the opening whistle came back to haunt us. The team started to build momentum. However, we got stretched out wide and HBHS were clinical in taking their opportunities. The boys set to work and implemented our game plan of keeping it tight and using our strong ball runners. Unfortunately, we failed to capitalise and were slow to turn when possession was lost. Shortly before half time a quick tap saw Tyler Brown show some blistering pace down the side-line to score a try. The second half produced more of the same. Strong carries from Hector Munro and Tom Bailey kept us going forward and big defence close to the ruck was pleasing to see. Again we got stretched in the outside channels and the game ended 47-12 in favour of HBHS. The game summed up the season. At times, the boys played some really good aggressive accurate footy. Inconsistency cost us, but it was always pleasing to see the spirit in which the boys played the game. Man of the Match: Hector Munro
