Emma David has been named the finalist for the Altrusa Youth Award and will represent St Paul’s Collegiate School at the award ceremony later this month. The recipient of this award is chosen as a Year 12 student who excels in school life and is considered a role model within their community. Emma is an outstanding member of St Paul’s, admired for her leadership, compassion, and commitment to excellence across academics, service, and sport. She demonstrates an impressive ability to balance her wide-ranging commitments while generously giving her time to support both the St Paul’s whaanau and the wider community.

Emma is a valued member of the Mission & Service Council and participates in ROC, a programme dedicated to supporting and running after-school care for refugee children. She also serves through the Hospital Chaplaincy, giving up her Sundays to ensure patients can attend chapel services, and brings comfort by playing music at the Cancer Lodge, a program she also leads.

Beyond school, Emma is a Girl Guide leader, where she plans events, mentors young girls, and provides meaningful support to the community. Her service-minded approach is matched by her dedication to sport. She plays competitive volleyball and is co-captain of the Gold Netball Team, where her teamwork, encouragement, and sportsmanship shine through. She has also been actively involved in the school production, contributing her energy and creativity to the performing arts.

Emma is currently completing Level 3 Mathematics with Statistics and Level 3 Physics at Merit and Excellence levels, demonstrating strength in challenging subjects. She has also taken up tutoring a younger student in English. Emma is a remarkable young woman whose ability to excel across academics, sport, service, and leadership is truly inspiring. She embodies the values of courtesy, initiative, and dedication, making her a deserving finalist for the Altrusa Youth Award.
