Winners of First Prize, a $400 cheque, and an entry into the National Fieldays Innovations Competition!

SmoothSip is a product that allows calves to drink without worrying about getting a mouthful of powder while drinking their milk. Our product is an extender with a built-in mesh plate made for a calfeteria or pen feeder. It is an attachment for feeding clean, filtered, non-clumped milk to calves. The objective at SmoothSip is to provide a high-quality product that reduces milk powder wastage, supports calf health and wellbeing, achieves steady sales growth, ensures customer satisfaction, and operates sustainably and responsibly.

2nd Place in Crocodile Pit 2026

Tractor Armour – Angus Weir, Lachie Young, James Verry, and Lucy McLean-Bluck. Winners of $300 cash, and you will see them at the Fieldays.

Tractor Armour is a heavy-duty steel guard fitted to the front of a tractor to protect the bonnet, grill, radiator and engine compartment from damage. It is especially useful in orchard environments, where tight rows and low branches can dent or break key components of the tractor. The guard is made from strong perforated steel rods and mesh, which provides solid protection while not disrupting airflow. The design is durable, practical, and built to handle tough agricultural and horticultural conditions. Tractor Armour helps reduce repair costs, prevent downtime, and extend tractor life.

3rd Place in the Crocodile Pit

PigProp – Max Clausen, Hugh Trower, Hazel Church, and Olivia Waddell. Winners of $200 and a place in the National Fieldays Innovations competition.

A lightweight metal rack designed to conveniently transport and store pigtails, which can attach to a motorbike or 4-wheeler. It is shaped like an upside-down V with brackets on the sides, with straps that allow the pigtails to be transported safely lengthwise without the risk of them falling off or moving.

4th Place in the Crocodile Pit

LickStick – Josh Cashin, Billy Smyth, Rory Boynton and Sam Lewis. Winners of $100 cash.

LickStick is a secure holder for mineral salt blocks for cows and sheep, keeping them stable, elevated, and protected from tipping, breaking, or contamination. The mineral block can be adjusted to meet the animal’s nutritional needs, allowing farmers to provide the right balance of minerals at different stages of growth or health requirements. This helps ensure proper mineral intake while reducing waste and saving money.
