Feeding minds and stomachs

Feeding minds and stomachs

Meet our school librarian and tuck shop operator, Judy Clarke.

Mrs Clarke has barcoded every book in the school library – books for leisure reading and text books – to ensure the school can track and trace each one. Books must be scanned before leaving the library so Mrs Clarke will have encountered every student at the school in their time here, through borrowing or returning books.

She has developed a special rapport with the students who are avid readers or those who simply enjoy hanging out in the library. They often tell her of their plans for the weekend or how their week has been. She loves watching as young new students develop into fine young men and ladies by the time they leave school.

Mrs Clarke also operates the Tuck Shop twice a day. Working alongside students who are rostered to help out, she manages the mass of students who come for a mid-morning or late-afternoon snack. One of their favourite treats are thick shakes of which Judy produces more than 100 a week.
