Talented athletes to compete on world rowing stage

Kate Littlejohn and Grace Watson have been selected to represent New Zealand in the coxless four rowing team at the Junior World Championships being held in Lithuania in August 2017.

The girls spent six days trialling for the New Zealand junior rowing team after this year’s Maadi Cup regatta, held at Karapiro. Their selection will see them as the front pair setting the rhythm and pace for the coxless four team. The team will be coached by St Paul’s rowing coach, Nick Barton.

The cost to compete in this prestigious event is significant and well over $10,000 for each girl – this includes the cost to trial, to live and train at Karapiro for 10 weeks and the cost to tour.

To help offset some of these costs for both girls, a fundraising page has been set up. If you were able to give, they would appreciate your support. Kate and Grace – Givealittle page.
