    Rev Peter Rickman brings extensive experience from the Anglican Church in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. His background includes work as a community and youth worker, counsellor, teacher, prison and school chaplain, vicar, and senior church leader.

    Rev Rickman previously served as Chaplain at St Paul’s and later returned to parish ministry overseas. Prior to rejoining the school, he held the role of Dean of the Waikato Cathedral Church of St Peter, where he provided leadership across ministry, outreach, and pastoral care. His work included overseeing large volunteer and staff teams and supporting programmes for youth, older people, and vulnerable members of the community.

    Rev Rickman brings strong pastoral leadership and values the role of faith, service, and care within a school environment. He enjoys working with young people and supporting the wider school community.

    Outside of school, Rev Rickman is actively involved in community service. He is a qualified first aid instructor, has experience as a community ambulance first responder, is involved with Hamilton Sea Scouts as a kayaking and sailing instructor, and is a qualified PADI scuba diving instructor.

    Mrs Zoe Doyle started at St Paul’s in 2026, joining from roles across education, youth ministry, and the travel industry. Her previous experience includes working as a boarding assistant house parent, a ministry coordinator, and a travel agent.

    Mrs Doyle values supporting young people within a boarding and pastoral setting and enjoys working as part of a wider school community. She brings strong organisational skills and a people-focused approach to her role.

    Mrs Doyle holds a Bachelor of Theology from Laidlaw College.

    Outside of school, Mrs Doyle enjoys sewing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys spending time with her children and being involved in community life.

    Teacher in Charge Pasifika

    Mrs Di Taumalolo joined St Paul’s in 2025, bringing experience from both Hastings Boys’ High School and Hamilton Boys’ High School. She also brings an international perspective to her teaching, having spent time living and working overseas, including several years in France.

    Mrs Taumalolo teaches English and Social Sciences and is passionate about supporting tauira to grow into well-rounded, empathetic, and curious learners. She values thoughtful discussion, critical thinking, and connection within the classroom.

    Mrs Taumalolo studied in New Zealand and England and holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts.

    Outside of school, Mrs Taumalolo enjoys spending time with her family and being involved in rural life. She is also connected to rowing, horse riding, and rugby communities.

    Mr Daniel Bair started at St Paul’s in 2026, joining from Hamilton Boys’ High School. Prior to working in education, he spent nearly a decade in the National Defence industry before transitioning into teaching and pastoral leadership.

    Mr Bair is passionate about pastoral care and supporting young people to thrive within a school community. He brings leadership experience from his work as an Assistant Principal and Director of Pastoral Care and values strong relationships as the foundation for student wellbeing and growth.

    Mr Bair holds a Master of Science in International Studies from St John Fisher University and a Bachelor of History with concentrations in Cultural Anthropology and Political Science from the State University of New York.

    Outside of school, Mr Bair maintains a wide range of interests, including physical culture and sport, travel, the outdoors, illustration, and philosophy. He also enjoys staying connected to sporting communities.

    Mr JT Thomas joined St Paul’s in 2026 bringing extensive experience from secondary education. His background includes senior leadership roles at Whangārei Boys' High School and management experience in tertiary education.

    Mr Thomas has worked in education for more than 20 years and has held leadership roles including Head of Faculty, Deputy Principal, and Housemaster within a boarding environment. He brings strong expertise in pastoral care, staff leadership, and student wellbeing, alongside experience across Physical Education, Outdoor Education, and Health.

    Mr Thomas holds a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Teaching from the University of Waikato.

    Outside of school, Mr Thomas enjoys following a wide range of sports and spending time with his family.

    Kate has a strong passion for youth health and has completed postgraduate study focused on youth health and wellbeing. This further training reflects her commitment to understanding the unique physical and developmental needs of young people and ensuring that the care and guidance she provides is appropriate, supportive, and empowering for students.

    Kate also strongly values whaanau connections in supporting student wellbeing. She recognises that health and recovery are most effective when families are involved and informed, and she works collaboratively with students and their whānau to ensure they feel supported throughout their care.

    Her approachable nature, expertise, and genuine care for young people make her a trusted and highly valued support for our school community.

    School nurse Amy is an integral member of the student wellbeing team, dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of young people and ensuring students receive appropriate care and guidance during the school day.

    Amy provides assessment and management of illnesses and injuries, and supports students with ongoing health needs in collaboration with the wider health team, including physio, medical, and counselling staff.

    A busy mum of three girls, she has a passion for floristry and hockey outside of her role at St Paul's.

    Kim Deane is the school’s physiotherapist and a valued member of our student support team. With extensive experience in physiotherapy, including concussion care, she provides knowledgeable and compassionate support to students recovering from injuries.

    She is also passionate about sports injury prevention education, working with students, coaches, and staff to promote safe training habits, good movement techniques, and early injury recognition. Through guidance, education, and practical support, she empowers students to take care of their bodies so they can continue participating confidently in sport and school activities. Her approachable nature and dedication to student wellbeing help students stay active, confident, and safe in their sporting and school activities.

    Mr Blair Heaton joined St Paul’s in 2017, bringing experience from Auckland Grammar School, where he taught Art and held significant pastoral leadership roles. His background includes time as a boarding Housemaster and as Dean of international students.

    Mr Heaton brings strong experience in both visual arts education and pastoral care. He values supporting students’ creative development and wellbeing and enjoys working within a boarding school environment.

    Mr Heaton holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Otago and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling Studies. He continues his professional learning through postgraduate study in counselling at the University of Waikato.

    Alongside his teaching role, Mr Heaton has been heavily involved in rugby coaching, including work with First XV and championship-winning age-group teams.
