Who we are

St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s leading independent day and boarding secondary schools for Year 9-13 boys and Year 11-13 girls. Located in Hamilton, our school has a reputation for providing personalised education that focuses on academic excellence.

With a roll of around 800 students, each student is known personally and regarded as an integral part of the community. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 20 students allowing teachers to tailor their approach to each student’s learning ability.

Boys are welcomed from Year 9-13 and girls from Year 11-13, as day or boarding students. The senior years at St Paul’s offer co-ed learning while the junior school, Year 9-10, remains a boys’ only school.

We make no apologies for setting high expectations. Daily we discuss with young men and women the standards that we expect them to meet and how that can achieve the School’s vision of turning possibilities into reality.

While our strongest focus is ensuring our students achieve their potential in their academic studies, so too is our focus on developing good character, faith and leadership in every young man and woman.

We are expert educators. Through teachers who are enthusiastic and passionate about teaching, a pastoral care system that recognises the highs, lows, strengths and weaknesses of each student and peer support that forms a sense of belonging only a small education environment can provide, we believe young men and women thrive at St Paul’s.

We have a strong pastoral care and hauora (well-being) system and have peer support that forms a sense of belonging only a small educational environment can provide.
