Old Collegians' kicking goals as football careers take off

11 March 2014

A number of St Paul’s graduates are taking big strides with their football careers, having been chosen for various academies, scholarships and teams for the 2013/14 season.

Scott Hilliar (Clark 2012) and Daniel Goodwin (Fitchett 2013) have been selected for the Waikato University Football Academy. The academy allows students to train full-time with professional coaches, while completing their degree. This opportunity will provide Scott and Daniel with multiple pathways including links to ASB Premiership youth and senior representative teams and several northern and federation league clubs.

Hilliar has also been selected for the WaiBOP United Senior Mens' Team 2013/14, stamping a busy year ahead for the young footballer.

The achievements don't stop there, 2012 graduate Elliot Collier (Hall) is now in Chicago, USA, after accepting an academic and football scholarship to Loyola University.

Congratulations to our recent graduates. Coaches Mike Simmons and Mike Groom are very proud.
