Dance

At St Paul’s, we value creativity, expression, and performance, viewing these as essential skills for students to develop and grow across both academic and extracurricular platforms.

Our goal is to support students to find success in Dance by inspiring and challenging those who are already confident performers, while nurturing those who are less experienced to build confidence and discover new strengths. Students are encouraged to develop their physical skills, creativity, and ability to collaborate through a range of practical and performance-based learning experiences.

Senior students are supported with quality teaching, mentorship, and performance opportunities to produce work that aligns with the NZQA Dance curriculum. Students are encouraged to pursue excellence in both performance and choreography, with opportunities to showcase their work and develop as confident, expressive performers.

Dance at St Paul’s allows students to explore movement as a language for communication, storytelling, and self-expression. Through performance and choreography, students learn to work both independently and collaboratively while developing discipline, resilience, and creative confidence.

There are a range of opportunities to access Dance at St Paul’s, including:

  • Year 9 Dance Masterclass
  • Year 11 Dance (St Paul’s Diploma)
