Badminton at St Paul’s Collegiate School

St Paul’s Collegiate School offers badminton during Terms 1, 2 and 3 as a summer and winter sport option. Students from all year levels and of all athletic ability are invited to join the badminton programme as part of their compulsory sport option.

Social badminton is played in the new gym during Term 1 with boys playing on Tuesday nights from 3.45pm to 4.45pm and girls playing on Thursday nights at the same time.

During Term 2 and 3, competitive badminton is offered in addition to social badminton (times to be advised). Usually two boys’ teams and one girls’ team compete in the Waikato Secondary Schools Competition. Students are required to practice once a week as well as compete in one game, which is usually held on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in St Paul’s Sports Centre.

Coaching, qualifying and national tournament fees, and travel and accommodation costs are disbursed to students' accounts accordingly.
